Tale of 2 halves

The 1st half of the game was heavily tilted to our side. We managed to keep control of the ball and kept the ball primarily on Montezumas side. We conceded an early goal but with some perseverance we scored off a cross from the left after a little pinball action in the box. Allen didn't give up on the play, dove in and poked the ball to the back of the net.

Halftime Score (1 - 1)

With the momentum on our side we felt good about our chances in the second half. Not to make any excuses but Peter's deep lobs and for most part the teams deep passes were just not as potent because of a strong head wind. In anycase Montezuma started to take form and control the middle part of the field. This always seems to be our achilles heel and this game was no different. About 15 minutes into the second hand Montezuma scored. We played strong for another 15 minutes and then the wheels fell off. Montezuma completely dominated control of the ball and we could not generate a string of passes to get the ball over to the oppostions side.

Final Score (5-1)

The loss basically tested our skill, composure and heart. Hopefully we can learn from this and bring a strong performance for the next game.
